Suzuki is launching two brand new models for the 2021 season: the Suzuki DF 115BG and DF140BG, both 4-stroke outboards. These are the first outboards in their class with electronic throttle and gear control, so-called "fly by wire", which, among other things, results in more precise throttle and gear control and increases the driving experience. Suzuki calls it SPC, Suzuki Precision Control.
The Suzuki DF 115BG is now available with the Suzuki Keyless System, the market's most innovative immobilizer.
Whether it's fishing, excursions, water sports or pure transport, this engine fits your boat perfectly.
It also has a new advanced fuel delivery, so-called Lean Burn Fuel System, which gives you impressive fuel economy without sacrificing performance!
SPC results in smooth and precise shifting and control of the throttle, which also leads to increased performance and lower fuel consumption. Suzuki has long experience with electronic steering as the company launched it many years ago on the largest models.
However, SPC is not the only innovation in these engines. The manufacturer has also updated the engine itself. Suzuki has raised the compression ratio to 10.6:1 in this 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which gives a higher top speed and better acceleration. In addition, fuel consumption has been reduced by approx. 5–7% in the cruising speed range compared to the current DF115A and DF140A.
The new Suzuki DF 115BG and DF140BG have also received a completely new generator of a full 40A and with increased charging capacity at idle and low rpm, which is very good for today's current-guzzling fishing boats that spend a long time trolling.
Although much is new under the hood, there are also novelties that are visible to the eye. The engine cover has a completely new, modern design that fits well with many different boat types. The new DF115BG and DF140BG are available with either an L rig (20") or an XL rig (25").
115 hp and 140 hp is a power class that fits a lot of boats in Sweden. Both engines will be available both in black color and also in a brand new white color, Super Cool White. The hood has also received an all-new air intake/intake system that includes an improved water separator and an all-new resonance chamber that lowers the intake noise to new low levels across the entire rev range.
To facilitate service, only the engine cover needs to be removed. The engine has also been given a spill collar at the oil filter, which means that oil does not spill onto the ground or into the water. The engine also has a sensor that warns of possible water in the fuel.
Effectively compact
An engine does not have to be a giant to be efficient and strong.
Here is the model that proves it. The DF115BG has a straight four-cylinder engine with a forward crankshaft.
The engine block is thereby moved forward and provides a better center of gravity balancing on the transom.
The power of the engines and the ratio of the powerful final drive give you massive acceleration and a high-rpm performance that will amaze you.
Suzuki's innovative technology
The DF115BG has a feedback system with an O2 sensor that provides cleaner and smoother emissions.
In addition, the DF115BG also benefits from a knock sensor that detects and regulates misfiring, allowing the engine to run at optimum performance.
