Compact
Suzuki engineers are known for having engineered some of the most compact four-strokes in their respective classes.
With the DF90, DF80, DF70 and new DF60, they started over and designed every part and every component from scratch.
In doing so, they took advantage of the knowledge and technological advances that have accrued over the last decade and yet created lighter, yet more compact outboards.

Lean Burn control system
To make the most of every drop of fuel, Suzuki engineers developed the so-called "LeanBurn" system, which allows the engine to run on a leaner or thinner fuel mixture.
The system controls the air/fuel mixture by predicting fuel demand based on operating conditions.
The system gives advantage over a wide working area with clear savings from low revs to cruising speed.

Tilt limiter
The Suzuki DF 60A is equipped with a system that limits the rigging angle and prevents damage to the boat when the engine tips over. The system includes a rig angle sensor which is a tilt limiter
and tuning transmitter in one. It uses a limiter that constantly senses the rigging angle of the engine. This means that the engine can be used on almost any type of boat.

Suzuki Easy Start quick start system
With Suzuki's Easy Start System, the quick start that is included on the Suzuki DF 60A, you just turn the key and let go.
The starter takes care of the rest and stays running until the outboard starts.
Softer and better starting with the Easy Start System gives you better combustion and fuel economy.

Mechanically efficient design
Suzuki engineers have developed designs to limit mechanical losses as a route to improved power in the DF60.
A specially developed oil pump provides greater mechanical efficiency, allowing the oil to flow through the lubrication system with less resistance. This, in conjunction with reduced mechanical loss in other parts of the engine, contributes to better fuel economy.

Self-adjusting camshaft chain
Suzuki's self-adjusting camshaft chain is featured on the DF60, making it the first engine in the 44.1 kW (60 hp) class to feature this maintenance-free feature. The chain is in an oil bath and has an automatic hydraulic tensioner which ensures that it is always correctly adjusted and thus maintenance-free in operation.
